Lab Services
Almonte General Hospital Laboratory
If you require lab services, such as a blood or urine test, you will have a requisition form from your doctor. Be sure to ask your doctor if you need to fast prior to your test or if there are any other instructions you need to follow. If you are having a urine test, please drink extra fluids (if not fasting) and, when possible, avoid urinating before coming to the lab.
For your blood or urine test, go to the lobby of the old Fairview Manor building, 95 Spring Street, between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Monday to Friday (except statutory holidays). When you arrive, be sure to have your requisition form from your doctor, your health card and your hospital card. Check in with the volunteer in the waiting area and be sure to take a number from the machine on the wall, as those waiting for lab tests will be called in order.
