Almonte General Hospital Volunteer Program
Members of the Almonte General Hospital Auxiliary volunteer in most Hospital departments,
including X-ray, Physiotherapy, medical records, the Rosamond Unit, the Medical-Surgical and
Obstetrical departments, the Day Hospital, laundry and Gift Shop.
Volunteer duties depend on the department, but include greeting patients, delivering water
and juice to patients’ bedsides, making snacks, managing the Gift Shop, performing
clerical duties and helping Day Hospital patients work on crafts and other projects.
Volunteers also help decorate the Hospital for the holidays, make quilts and wall hangings
for the obstetrical unit, do carpentry for the Day Hospital and knit hats and booties for
newborns. In the Rosamond Unit, volunteers help with bingo games, spa activities, pet visiting
and pastoral care.
New volunteers are given extensive support when they begin donating their time to AGH,
including a complete orientation and a position description outlining their roles and
responsibilities.
For more information about volunteering at AGH, please contact Tanya Lalonde at the Hospital
at 256-2514 ext. 2226.
